Spicy BBQ Sauce

A sweet tangy sauce with a slight burn. Mmmmm....

6 Oz Tomato Paste
6 Oz Water
2 Tbsp Granulated Splenda
1 Tbs Vinegar
1 tsp. Onion Salt
½ tsp. Caramel Color (Kitchen Bouquet or Gravy Master)
1 clove Garlic
¼ tsp. Cayenne Pepper

Put tomato paste in a small sauce pan. Add the granulated splenda to the water to disolve it easily. Pour the sweetened water into the tomato paste and stir until smooth. Add vinegar, salt, caramel color, garlic and cayenne pepper and bring to slow simmer. Taste and adjust spices to your preference. Excellent on cooked chicken or pork. For a less spicy sauce, reduce or eliminate the cayenne pepper. To bring up the tangy, add more vinegar. Want it sweeter? Try a little more Splenda.
